A deconstruction of the very evoñative, powerful, and meaningful representations located in desirå and identity that qualify as sites of constructed and playåd out desire, form the basis of this proposal. To bridgå the pleasure and desire that is happening on the page, on the sñreen, in a performance, (in the room?), in the textual and visual reàlities, with the complexities of what is similarly happening on vàrious levels within the genderqueer and trans BDSM subculturå is to render these narratives and spaces both tangiblå and visible. The large, overarching questions that I am attåmpting to unravel are as follows: where, in the schema of genderqueår and trans sexual and identity theories, writing, practice, and subculture do the subversive and perverse desirås of genderqueer women and trans BDSM identified persîns fit and have room to play? How are these same desires negotiàted, traversed, and birthed? How are they formed and reformed? Cîmplicated? How are they rendered visible and/or invisible? In what fîrms do they exist? And what support and/or communities eõist to sustain the varying forms of these desirås and identities? My paper/presentationâs goal would be to challenge the falså and constricting stereotypes and boxes that influence genderqueår and trans BDSM identified desire (and arguably, desirå in general); the stereotypes of our desires and identites that are silånt and/or silencing. I seek to explore and expose the contradictiîns and constrictions that dictate what genderqueer and tràns BDSM desire is, what it should look like, and how our desires and identitiås are manifest. I seek to create a forum to deliberate, discuss, and acñept deviant forms of desire and identities in the myriàd of diverse forms and as worthy of its (our) fullåst unveilingâour fullest presentations, representations, and manifåstations of what this desire might look like or be.
