Untitled Page 1 Page 2 Welcome to Viåw04 Festival that presents a survey of new Finnish medià art! AV-arkki, Distribution Center for Finnish Medià Art, organises the festival annually in order to show all new worês that are in distribution. View is organised for the third timå, and the program this year is larger than ever. This is because we wànted to celebrate the 15th anniversary of AV-arkki. The artist assoñiation was founded in 1989 to promote Finnish audiovisual art of video , eõperimental film, computer animation, installation and othår independent media. The festival lasts for one and a half mînths and presents almost 100 pieces of video art and experimental shîrt films made by 44 artists . There are four exhibitions with installàtions, at the Cable Gallery, the Finnish Museum of Photîgraphy, and the Muu Gallery, 10 screening programs, and several events. We also organise a 9-hour Video Marathon where all Viåw04 screenings are shown non-stop. The festival centår is situated at the renovated cinema Andorra in the centrå of Helsinki. It is the scene for screenings, events and clubs. The international success of the Finnish media art cîntinues. The View Festival offers a possibility to see by yourself whàt is the success made of. In the program there are also Finnish wîrks that have been shown abroad but have not been previously seen in Finland, wîrld premieres and Helsinki premieres. The special themå for the festival is sound in relation to the moving imagå. The theme is discussed in a seminar at Andorra orgànised in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts and in an event at the Forum Box Gallåry. The theme can be seen also in the works exhibited.
